The National Tournament is over, but the boys’ summer is far from finished.
Oshitari Atom, the younger sister of Hyotei’s genius Oshitari Yuushi, transfers from Osaka to Rikkai Dai High School after her parents move for work. On her first day, she meets the person her brother calls his “most terrifying opponent” on the tennis court at dawn: Sanada Genichiro.
He is Rikkai Dai’s “Emperor,” an absolute presence on the court whom no one dares disobey. His tennis is as precise as a scalpel, his expression as hard as an iron wall, and his life is guided by just four words: Never let up.
Yet in every swing of his racket, Atom clearly sees something hidden beneath all that severity. Not strength, not pride, but loneliness.
“Sanada-senpai, your tennis... doesn’t seem very happy.”
No one has ever dared say anything like that to him before.
From then on, a ray of sunshine named Oshitari Atom stubbornly begins to shine into the Emperor’s ironclad heart. She uses her dynamic vision to track the path of every swing, challenges his patience with deadpan jokes in her Kansai dialect, and knocks on the tightly shut door in his heart with her unreserved sincerity:
Are you playing tennis for Rikkai Dai’s hard-won reputation as an undefeated team, or are you playing tennis that belongs to Sanada Genichiro himself?
This is a story about a “little sunshine” and the “Emperor of Tennis.” Tennis brings them together, and their bond helps them grow.
What kind of chemistry will spark when Wind, Forest, Fire, and Mountain meet the brilliant sun?
