Transmigrated to a Women's Kingdom: Spring Fills Peach Mountain

[More men than women | matriarchal farming | multiple husbands and doting | heroine wants to lie flat and coast]

In the spring of the seventh year of Jinghe, Ye Yunyou has been in the Great Yong, a matriarchal dynasty with far more men than women, for two years.

The laws of Great Yong are harsh: women must take a husband when they come of age at fifteen, or pay a hefty fine for every year they delay. By the age of twenty, anyone who has not gathered three husbands and four attendants will have her property confiscated. At eighteen, a woman who refuses to marry is forcibly sent into servitude by the authorities, and resisting earns her a public beating.

Unfortunately, Ye Yunyou was just fifteen when she arrived, and she has already paid two years' worth of fines.

To lie flat and live in peace, Ye Yunyou avoids the many men in the village who prize delicate beauty. Instead, she seeks out Baishi, a rough, capable man whom everyone in the village looks down on.

The whole village is stunned and baffled. She could have chosen a handsome man, yet she picked a coarse country bumpkin.

Baishi lowers his head awkwardly, unable to believe it. “My lady, are you truly not put off by my rough, ugly looks?”

Ye Yunyou lounges beneath a peach tree, seeing right through it all. “I don't need a stunning face. I just want someone diligent and reliable, someone who can clear land, farm, manage the household, and support the family. You're exactly the right person.”
