Night-shift delivery rider Gu Chen receives a strange order: the address is “Xingfuli,” but the note says, “Follow the notices in the stairwell. You are responsible for any consequences if you’re late.”
The elevator only goes up, never down. You must knock no more than three times. The recipient only ever says, “Thank you.” Most disturbing of all, you must not confirm delivery.
He was planning to follow the rules, finish the delivery, and leave, but a voice behind the door suddenly called him by name. The rules say: That isn’t you.
A reset. Fake apartment numbers. Receipts bearing the name “Gu Chen” covering every wall... This building is devouring every order canceled for being late, and night-shift riders are the fuel keeping it alive.
Then the System displays the [Night-Shift Survival Protocol]: You may rewrite one rule each day.
Gu Chen decides to stop following the rules. He’ll rewrite them, exploit loopholes, and talk to ghosts using delivery tickets.
One delivery per night.
This one must be delivered.
