My Wife Is Empress Wu? How Could I Be a Fake Emperor!

There has never been a shortage of puppets in this world. Some are controlled by powerful ministers, some by their maternal relatives, and some by eunuchs. Yet few ever turn on their masters.

Wu Zetian saw me as a valuable pawn, hoping to seize the throne and rule this vast realm. At first, I agreed to impersonate that spineless Li Zhi only so I could survive the witch's clutches. Later, after gradually taking control of the palace and the world beyond it, I decided that since I was wearing the imperial robes, I shouldn't settle for being a puppet on strings.

On the eve of the enthronement ceremony, I sat on the throne in the Golden Hall, looking down at the witch sealed below by a binding spell.

“Every step I've taken has been like walking on thin ice. My empress, do you think I can hold on to this realm?”

The witch said, “You shameless lecher! You corrupted my heart, stole my legacy, and you'll be punished by heaven!”

I said, “My empress, you won't even call me Your Majesty.”

The demon empress said, “I should never have let my guard down back then and found you to impersonate the prince. I never expected you to make the fake real.”

I grinned wickedly.

“My wife is Wu Zetian! Who the hell dares call me a fake emperor?”
