Dragon Raja: Shadow of the Candle Dragon

He didn't come to slay dragons. He came to steal the secret party's dragon-slaying art.

Lin Yuan, the youngest “spy” in the Candle Dragon Organization, infiltrates Cassell with an impossible mission: steal the Blood Rage technique and keep an eye on an S-rank good-for-nothing named Lu Mingfei.

His Word Spirit, “Instant,” was judged to be “next to useless,” but the organization told him that combined with Blood Rage, it could evolve into a higher-tier Word Spirit, “Jade Clepsydra (Time Zero),” at the cost of burning through his life.

One year. That was all the time he gave himself.

But he never expected to meet Chu Zihang during that year undercover.

His taciturn senior would trust him with his back in life-or-death moments. On Odin's Night, covered in blood, he would still murmur, “Lin Yuan, you go first.”

Then an order came from the organization: “Target: Chu Zihang. Recover his Blood Rage sample. Prioritize taking him alive.”

Standing in the pouring rain, Lin Yuan held his Tang sword, unsure for the first time who to point it at.

He hadn't spent all this time undercover just to become the blade that killed his closest friend.

This is the story of a spy who betrays his organization and chooses to stand by his brother.
