After Both Our Secret Identities Were Exposed, We Joined Forces

I, Lin Wan, a burned-out office worker, transmigrated into the heroine of a cultivation tragedy. The System told me to dig out the golden core of the male side character who was devoted to me. I refused, and my protagonist halo got docked by 80%.

But that devoted male side character of mine smashed a Nascent Soul demon beast with one palm.

I suspected he had transmigrated too. I tested him for half a month, but he never picked up on a single reference.

Only later did I find out that he really had transmigrated. But he didn't know this was a book, and thought he had been reborn.

He was afraid I'd stab him in the back, and I was afraid he'd turn evil. The two impostors silently tried to out-act each other.

Until, in a secret realm, he unleashed all his demonic energy and crushed the villain into the ground, then turned to ask me, "How much longer are you going to keep acting?"

I grinned. "How about we work together?"

He raised an eyebrow. "How do we split things?"

"I'll write the script, you provide the muscle. We take what needs taking and beat up whoever needs beating."

"And what are you responsible for?"

"Making sure you don't die."

He paused, then tucked his hand into his sleeve.

"Fine."

Two cannon fodder characters joined forces and blew up the original story.
