[Female-Dominated World + Imperial Exams + Officialdom + One Woman, Multiple Men + Stunning Beauty + Wish Fulfillment + Villainess + Some Male Suffering + Some Ensemble Cast]
Li Zhanqing, a woman of great stature, has three grand ambitions:
First, to marry an eligible man from a prestigious family.
Second, to climb into the ranks of the powerful and influential.
Third, to enjoy a life of wealth and leisure.
In plain terms, she wants to marry a rich, beautiful man, get in with the powerful, and spend her days lounging amid luxury.
What a wonderful life.
Her plan falls apart halfway through. Li Zhanqing can’t stand a hard life and wants to pawn off her rich, beautiful husband for money.
The good news: the Villainess Reform System binds itself to her and stops her from making a terrible mistake.
The bad news: the Villainess Reform System binds itself to her and keeps her from pursuing her three grand ambitions, expecting her to rise to prominence through real talent and hard work.
As she spends night after night cramming for exams, Li Zhanqing says nothing and just keeps crying.
This is so hard. Life is unbearably hard.
Looking back on her life, Li Zhanqing doesn’t think it was anything special.
She simply came first in the imperial exams, landed an official post, and then became powerful enough to dominate the court.
She simply married the Prime Minister’s son and won the Prime Minister’s favor.
She simply became famous across the land, praised by everyone.
She has only one regret.
Her first love, the one she married, died young.
What a pity.
She had promised him they would be together for life, with no one else between them.
So she had no choice but to marry a wealthy merchant’s son instead.
And when she just couldn’t resist the devotion of beautiful men, she was kindhearted, so she took them in.
●●●
The heroine is an unequivocal villainess in the early part of the story. She cheats, has affairs, flatters those above her and bullies those below, acts two-faced, deliberately harms people, kills and disposes of bodies...
She has no tragic past. She is simply evil.
She will improve later, but don’t expect too much: this is a work in progress, not a completed redemption.
It's very funny and beautiful. To be honest, I thought this subject matter was very novel. Except that the author still uses neutral words to describe men, everything else is very good! I'll wait and comment later
Come and see, okay?
