After Being Deposed as Crown Prince, I Lay Flat and Somehow Managed to Destroy the Country

[Court Politics] [System] [Subverting the Clichés] [Farming] [Infrastructure] [Ensemble Cast] [Lighthearted] [No Self-Righteous Saint]

Xiao Che transmigrates into the disgraced crown prince of the Great Sheng Dynasty. The moment he opens his eyes, the emperor strips him of his title and sends him to a ruined border city to await his death.

The original owner failed in the struggle for the throne, and the entire court is waiting to see him starve to death.

The System is even more outrageous. The moment he binds to it, it issues the ultimate mission:

[Host, bring about the fall of Great Sheng within ten years.]

Xiao Che is immediately relieved.

How hard can it be to bring down a dynasty?

Just lie flat, slack off, and ignore everything. Then wait for the enemy army to invade, right?

So he refuses to train the troops and has them farm instead.

He refuses to provide disaster relief and has the refugees set up workshops themselves.

He refuses to buy the people's loyalty and instead has them distribute grain according to the work they do.

A year later, the border city's granaries are overflowing, and the refugees have become merchants.

The enemy army crosses mountains and rivers to attack, only to find the city walls manned by well-fed citizens eager to enlist.

The System falls silent for a long time.

[Dynasty's fall progress: -10%.]

Xiao Che is speechless too.

"Wait, wasn't I slacking off?"

Then news arrives from the capital: the emperor is gravely ill, and the entire court is kneeling and begging the deposed crown prince to return and take the throne.

Xiao Che looks at the System's new mission and completely loses his cool.

[Host, ascend the throne and accelerate the fall of the dynasty.]
