Zhu Yuanzhang Hears My Thoughts: From Ninth-Rank Official to Pillar of the State

He transmigrated to the Ming dynasty and became a low-ranking ninth-rank official in the Hongwu era.

Shen Yuan just wanted to stay alive.

No System, no golden finger, no picking sides, no drawing attention. All he had to do was outlast the Blank Seal Case.

But who knew that the golden finger was in the hands of Old Zhu?

Whatever Shen Yuan thought, Zhu Yuanzhang could hear it all.

["The Blank Seal Case will implicate tens of thousands, and the officials responsible for the seals will be executed! I'm only a ninth-rank bookkeeper. I'm dead for sure!"]

Zhu Yuanzhang: Hm? This kid knows the Blank Seal Case will implicate tens of thousands? I haven't even investigated it yet. Investigate it.

["They even embezzled the disaster relief grain?! They got less than four hundred shi out of eight hundred. People are going to starve to death! Do ordinary people not count as human beings?"]

Zhu Yuanzhang clenched his fists. His parents had been driven to their deaths like that. Whoever embezzled the relief grain, he would take their life.

["Hu Weiyong has only three years left to live, and the Lan Yu case is coming soon too. I need to keep my distance from those generals..."]

Zhu Yuanzhang put down the memorial and fell silent for a long time.

Three years? Lan Yu? Just how much does this man know?

["Old Zhu is way too bloodthirsty. I need to resign and run away..."]

Zhu Yuanzhang sneered. Run away? Where would I find another person who dares to tell the truth? Rejected.

Shen Yuan: ??? What happened to my resignation request?!

Zhu Yuanzhang: Rejected. You're getting promoted.

Shen Yuan: I didn't, I don't have...

Zhu Yuanzhang: I, Zhu Yuanzhang, consider Shen Yuan a pillar of my Great Ming...

This is the story of a man who gets promoted the more he tries to keep a low profile, and is entrusted with greater responsibility the more he tries to run away.

Zhu Yuanzhang eavesdropped on the thoughts of a low-ranking ninth-rank official for thirty years.

On the day he died, he finally stopped listening.

Only then did Shen Yuan realize that Zhu Yuanzhang had heard everything from beginning to end.
