A classic scum seme and pathetic uke story, with a husband-chasing arc, a happy ending, and a pitiful uke.
Seme: Pei Zhi, head of the Pei Group. Cold and ruthless, but soft-hearted beneath his sharp tongue. He's already fallen in love, but refuses to admit it.
Uke: Lu Sijia, the Lin family's illegitimate son. Pitiful, gentle, and resilient.
Story:
After Pei Zhi's younger brother is killed in a business war, caught in a scheme set up by the Lin family, Pei Zhi buys the unwanted illegitimate son Lu Sijia at a banquet to exact revenge. With no one to rely on, Lu Sijia has to suppress his fear and obey Pei Zhi's every command so he can obtain his personal file and enroll at Jing University. Their dangerous arrangement is one in which both have their own agendas, and, in his despair, it's the only lifeline Lu Sijia can cling to.
