After his parents are brutally killed and his little brother coughs up blood and teeters on the brink of death, Xu Linyan, a boy from the slums, is trapped at the very bottom of the apocalyptic world, exploited and abused every day by thugs.
With nowhere left to turn, he ventures into a deadly forbidden zone, where an ancient Origin card awakens by chance!
Guns, cannons, long blades, and countless other weapons transform at his command. Ferocious beasts and arrogant nobles alike can be cut down with blade and gun!
He gathers displaced refugees and establishes the Dawnbreakers; raids grain warehouses and rescues the suffering people at the bottom; then marches to the mountaintop to take revenge on his enemy, Elder Shen Heting, and settle a blood feud!
Rising from the muddy depths, he smashes through the rigid class barriers and climbs to the very peak of power within humanity's stronghold.
But the price of using the cards to suppress the apocalypse's baleful energy is cruel and chilling:
Every bit of power he uses permanently erases a warm memory of time spent with his little brother.
With the world collapsing on one side and every memory of his only family fading away on the other, can Xu Linyan, wielder of a thousand weapons, break free from the chains of fate and protect the last glimmer of hope left in the world?
