Trace Examination: The Entire Sect Is Hunting Me, So I Investigate Murders in the Immortal Sect

My entire family was slaughtered, and I was the only one left alive. So I became the sole suspect.

They didn’t examine the blade. They wrote the accusation first. The words “escaped with an evil talisman” were put to paper, and that paper went down the mountain ahead of me, posted in a place I’d never been in my life.

I don’t cry injustice. To cry injustice, you need someone to believe you. Evidence doesn’t. The angle of the wounds, the direction of the blood trails, the way the bodies had been arranged: I examined every detail and made them pay, one by one.

I solved one case and brought down one person. Once I finished tracing the scapegoat who’d taken the blame, I went after the one who’d carried out the deed. Once the operative confessed, there was still someone above him who’d passed along the order.

I examined my way up, layer by layer. By the time I reached the third, not one of the heads of the Nine Great Immortal Sects was willing to look that way.
