A Buddhist Monk in Seclusion? No, He’s Plotting to Win His Wife

[Scheming x Secret Love Turns Mutual x Both Leads Are Chaste]

Fake Buddhist monk x worldly woman, religious discipline vs. private desire, duty vs. falling in love

Everyone said Xie Xu had rid himself of all worldly attachments. But the first time he met his cousin’s bride-to-be, she unsettled the calm he had cultivated through years of secluded meditation.

He observed the rules of the Buddhist faith and respectfully called her “Madam Su.”

She paid no heed to worldly etiquette and called him “A Xu.”

One meeting was all it took. Her fleeting image haunted his dreams. A thousand recitations of scripture and every line of religious discipline could not outweigh the two words “A Xu” lingering in his ears.

With the wedding date drawing near, he only hoped she would see her betrothed for who he truly was. Unable to bear the thought of her ruining her life, Xie Xu suppressed his feelings and asked again and again:

“Madam Su, are you truly going to marry my cousin?”
