My whole family died by the Si River. I was the only one who survived.
Everyone thought I would seek revenge. But I served in the army for ten years and never once charged into the Cao army's ranks.
I was waiting for a chance that would make me feel it was “worth dying for.”
(No System, no golden finger, a true-to-history setting. Starting from nothing, I’ll face off against the greatest warlords of the land!)
Huo Xin transmigrated to the Three Kingdoms era, just as Cao Cao was slaughtering the people of Xu Province and the Si River ran red.
He hid in a wrecked boat and watched his parents and siblings fall one after another. He crawled out from among the corpses that filled the city, only to see a landscape of blood and bones...
Relying on his ability to read and write, he started out as an obscure foot soldier.
He defeated Xiahou Yuan, outwitted Guo Jia and Jia Xu, forced Cao Ren and Yu Jin to retreat, and debated Xun Yu and Cheng Yu...
Years later, he finally faced Cao Cao head-on.
“Do you still remember, Lord Cao? The hatred for the four hundred thousand dead of Xu Province, and the vengeance owed for the four hundred thousand kinsmen lost by the Si River?”
(An effort to recreate history as faithfully as possible: the hot-tempered warlord Liu Bei, the formidable Cao Cao who still clutched his sword in dreams, and the domineering Yuan Shao of a lineage boasting four generations of high ministers...)
It's a good start. It depends on what the author writes next. I'll review it later.
