During the Tianbao years, the Tang Dynasty was on the surface full of fire: Chang'an and all the kingdoms came to court, the palace was singing and dancing, and the nobles were spending extravagantly; but secretly, the foreign relatives, the old party of the prime minister, the military governors of border towns, the Hu merchant consortium, the eunuchs of the inner court, and the noble families were at war with each other.
Su Can traveled to the Mid-Autumn Festival of the 14th year of Tianbao and became a court musician. Caught between Li Linfu's old party, powerful merchant gangs and the chaos of Anshi, he used Yang Guifei's traffic to build a luxury goods empire in the prosperous Tang Dynasty, and finally used wealth, industry, intelligence networks and armaments to rewrite the fate of Chang'an's overthrow.
