I Returned to 1937, Rescued a Child, and Became an Underground Ace

[Female-led espionage + children fighting to survive + underground intelligence + love of country]

In 1937, as artillery turns Jinling into a battlefield, modern history graduate student Lin Muchen opens her eyes with only a trembling four-year-old orphan, Lin Xiaohe, in her arms.

In this chaotic age when human lives are worth less than grass, she is a homeless orphan who must not only keep herself and her younger brother alive through bombing and starvation, but also evade the intense scrutiny of Japanese and puppet spies.

Fortunately, her mind is full of historical records of the War of Resistance, and she has modern first-aid skills at her fingertips.

Armed with her memories of history, she anticipates the enemy’s moves and deftly avoids deadly manhunts, smuggling one list of top-secret names and priceless cultural relics after another out of danger. With her medical knowledge, she snatches countless brave predecessors from the jaws of death.

From a refugee who once looked on with indifference to an underground intelligence ace who entrusts her life to the cold and steely intelligence chief Xie Changyan, she vows to kindle a spark that will spread like wildfire through the bloodstained cracks of history.

When the call of victory finally rings out, will the child who once hid in the ruins, terrified, be able to wait with her for the day the land is at peace once more?
