You’re Investigating Me for Embezzlement? I’ll Give Handong 5 Billion Instead

Chu Xinghe transmigrates to Handong, becoming part of Guangming District, the poorest and most remote district in Jingzhou.

A top-secret chief engineer, he has worked himself to exhaustion, so the highest authorities personally arrange for him to assume a new identity and take up a post in Handong.

They give him just one assignment: in this forgotten place, water the flowers, watch the stars, and enjoy a peaceful retirement while recovering his health.

To pass the time, Chu Xinghe casually develops a few technology patents, then uses the billions in patent fees to subsidize the district’s messes out of his own pocket. He asks for nothing and avoids all rivalry.

Then the Dafeng Factory incident erupts, and Handong is thrown into turmoil.
