Li's Ten Diaries

An ensemble cast and everyday life, a gentle slow burn, genius siblings, no CP for Li, a frail protagonist, a story of growing up, and a few heartbreaking cases

Tucked away in a corner of the city is a small courtyard surrounded by flowers and trees.

Little Li lives here with six older siblings, each gifted in their own way.

One is deft with their hands and can always cook up sweet, soothing medicinal candies;

One is quiet and reserved, but silently keeps watch from the terrace, taking in everything around them;

One is witty and lively, able to lighten the mood in the courtyard with just a few casual words;

One is thoughtful and dependable, always keeping the daily meals and household running smoothly.

Each has their own talents, yet they prefer to keep their brilliance hidden, quietly and modestly watching over their little courtyard.

They watch the sunset spill over the courtyard wall, listen to the evening breeze carry their chatter, and sometimes make little plans to go see fireworks, slowly making their way toward adulthood.

“Li, my name is Li, the Li in dawn.”

“Me? I’m an angel sent down from heaven to help you.”

“Hey, I’m a bad person, you know.”

“Sometimes people don’t need to be talked out of anything. They’re just tired, and need somewhere to sit and be treated kindly for a little while. It’s that simple.”

“I won’t say I’m fighting for justice. I just happen to be standing on the victims’ side.”

“When you do this job, justice isn’t what keeps you going in the end. Justice is too distant, too abstract. What keeps you going are the people right in front of you: the victims, their families, the ones still waiting for answers. Remember their faces, and you won’t stop.”

Little Li is used to recording these small, bright moments of everyday life, page by page, in a diary.

There is no noise or turmoil, only the gentle warmth of daily life, time passing slowly, and peace in every year.
