Trained in Maoshan, I Run Into a Fox Immortal and a Ghostly Bride from the Start

[Folk customs + supernatural + the occult + fox immortals and ghost wives]

After my master passed away, he left me a rundown woodcarving shop and a warning:

“Maoshan carving arts: carve a talisman to invite a god, carve a tablet to summon a ghost. Once you use them, you’ll be bound by karma, with no turning back.”

But then my beautiful childhood friend, a car show model, came to me in tears, begging me to save her.

I gave in to my soft heart and carved her a Buddhist amulet.

She used it to seduce her boss and get his wife killed. Then the dead woman came straight after me.

After that, more and more people came knocking.

My childhood friend, haunted by a cat demon; a young wife whose body was borrowed by a fox demon to repay a debt; an entire family being hunted by a weasel spirit...

The talismans I carve can save people, but they can also ruin them.

My name is Chen Liang, and I’m a Maoshan woodcarver.

By the time you read this, a ghost will already be haunting you…
