Li Yunlong Transmigrates into Chongzhen: From the Start, He Takes on Wei Zhongxian

The fierce anti-Japanese general Li Yunlong dies covering his troops’ retreat. When he opens his eyes, he has become Zhu Youjian, the Prince of Xin, who is about to ascend the throne in the seventh year of Tianqi.

Within the realm, the powerful eunuch Wei Zhongxian rules the court; beyond its borders, the Eight Banners of the Jurchen look on like tigers. The national treasury is so empty you could gallop a horse through it, while every court official has a hundred schemes of his own.

I’ve spent my whole life fighting wars, and you want to lecture me about Confucian rites?

Talk about political balance?

Tell me that the emperor is in the eunuchs’ pocket?

Nonsense!

I don’t understand all that Confucian jargon. I only know that whoever stands in the way of victory gets chopped down!

From the start, at his enthronement ceremony, he snatches a saber from an Embroidered Uniform Guard and hacks the eunuch faction’s Minister of War to pieces in front of the assembled court.

The Donglin faction, the eunuch faction, it makes no difference. In front of my bayonet, you’re all going to the arsenal to tighten bolts and build cannons!

The Jurchen are acting tough?

I’ll raise a fully mechanized independent regiment and sweep all the way from Liaodong to Europe!
