Many years ago, Xu Zhiyao remembered Zhou Yanqing from a rainy day.
Years later, they reunite through a medical charity project. One is a doctor at the operating table, the other a foundation director responsible for putting the project into action. Screening lists, follow-up procedures, funding shortfalls, public criticism: one real-world problem after another brings them back together.
At first, Zhou Yanqing sees Xu Zhiyao only as a partner. Later, he realizes that some silences are not signs of distance, and some concessions do not mean indifference.
This is a relationship that came too late. One person has waited for many years, while the other is beginning to learn how to catch up with an echo that was never spoken aloud.
