Lu Wan has spent 500 years cultivating in the mountains with her master. Just as she's about to ascend to the Celestial Realm, she fails to withstand the lightning tribulation, leaving her covered in wounds with only one-fifth of her former power.
To make matters worse, when she finally regains consciousness, she finds herself in a den of wolves.
A real wolf den!
Cultivators need rare treasures from heaven and earth to extend their lives and aid their cultivation on the path to immortality.
To demons, humans are tonics, and those who aspire to immortality are especially nourishing.
At that moment, Lu Wan is like meat on a chopping block, at their mercy.
Just when she thinks she's done for, a fox demon steps in. He knocks out the wolves who want to eat her and rescues her.
Lu Wan doesn't want to owe the fox demon a favor, so after escaping the den, she promises to grant him one wish.
The fox acts pitiful in front of her, tearfully telling her how cruel the wolf demons are and begging Lu Wan to take him with her.
If the wolf demons find out he helped Lu Wan escape, they'll never let him get away with it.
Lu Wan has always been compassionate, and besides, the fox in front of her is both handsome and pitiful, so she agrees to let him stay by her side.
She never expects that she'll never be able to get rid of him for the rest of her life!
