Story synopsis:
Lin Xia is always victorious in court, but she often encounters the dilemma of her clients breaking down emotionally during divorce and unable to end the matter with dignity. By chance, she met Lu Chen, who specialized in helping people plan "divorce ceremonies." From the initial misunderstanding between the two (Lin Xia believed that divorce was a legal cut, Lu Chen believed that emotional healing was needed), they later collaborated to establish the "Fork in the Road Studio" to provide a combination of legal + psychological + ritual services.
As each case unfolds (for example: a wealthy couple whose fake divorce turned out to be cheating, a post-90s couple who ran out of love due to conflicts between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, an empty-nester who has been together for 40 years but asked for a divorce due to Alzheimer's disease), Lin Xia is gradually moved by Lu Chen's gentleness and reverence for life, and the two also develop a secret love during their cooperation. However, Lin Xia's mother's dementia worsens, and the truth about her father's betrayal comes to light. Lin Xia faces the collapse of her career and belief. In the end, Lu Chen used a special "reconciliation ceremony" to help Lin Xia resolve her knot, and the two bravely moved towards each other in this career that witnessed all kinds of marriages.
