Fan Anyan, who grew up in the countryside, spirals out of control during adolescence. She skips school, steals money, and fights with her parents. All they do is scold her, never understanding how hurt she is by being isolated at school and having no one to keep her company.
Then her brother, whom she has hardly seen in years, drives home. Faced with her defiance, he doesn’t launch into a lecture. Two slaps snap her out of her daze.
After seeing through her loneliness and confusion, he takes her to live with him in the city.
In her brother’s quiet discipline and gentle acceptance, the once-wild girl gradually lets go of her rebellious ways and heals the hurts she suffered in her youth.
