Mountain Village Kids: A Rural Family in the Eighties and Nineties

[Southwestern Mountain Village in the 1980s] [Family Life] [Romance] [Realistic] [Ensemble Family Saga] [Family Ethics]

In remote Lijia Slope, the two Guan sisters both marry into the Li family.

Two couples with very different temperaments raise six children, each with a completely different personality.

The tides of change sweep through the countryside. Traditional arranged marriages gradually fade away, while free love begins to take root.

The six young people stand at a crossroads in life: some stay rooted in the warmth of village life, while others are determined to pursue their studies and leave. Conflicts over love, livelihood, and old and new values entangle every choice they make.

Over the course of many decades, a long-lived elder sits quietly beneath the eaves, watching three generations weather life's ups and downs.
