Kang Sheng was a highly controversial high-level figure in the history of the Chinese Communist Party. During his lifetime, he served as Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. However, after his death, he was expelled from the party, his eulogy was revoked, and he was identified as the chief criminal of the Lin Biao and Jiang Qing counterrevolutionary clique. ‌‌ During the Yan'an rectification period, the "rescuing those who had fallen behind" campaign resulted in a large number of unjust cases, and during the Cultural Revolution, he directly participated in the persecution of a large number of party and state leaders. He was good at adapting to the wind and following the trend. From following Li Lisan to seeking refuge with Wang Ming and then supporting Mao Zedong, his political speculations rose step by step, but always brought disaster to the country and the people. Kang Sheng died in Beijing on December 16, 1975. In 1978, the central government decided to review its problems. In 1980, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China announced the crimes committed by Kang Sheng, decided to expel him from the party, revoke his "eulogy", and move his ashes from the Babaoshan Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery.
