The taciturn young woman Shen Qingshuang descends the mountain to gain experience, carrying a sheathed sword that is pitch-black from hilt to tip, yet named "Little White." Along the way, she meets Xie Wuyan, the domineering son of a wealthy merchant with a hidden story; Lin Jiujiu, a warmhearted hunter’s daughter; and Mu Zhao, the poised and self-disciplined eldest daughter of a sect. Together, the four slay demons and exorcise evil, each finding someone to hold close along the way.
