[Ruyi reborn + Alliance with Consort Ling + Harem intrigue + Revenge on scumbags]
In my previous life, I was the empress he deposed, imprisoned until death.
After being reborn, I sought out Wei Yanwan, the future Consort Ling.
“Want to climb higher? I’ll help you.”
I teach her how to win the emperor’s favor, and she helps me put my plans into motion.
One of us works in the open, becoming an impeccable empress.
The other works in the shadows, becoming the most favored consort in the six palaces.
We never wanted his love.
What we wanted was power and freedom.
Later, aboard the ship on the southern tour, I cut my hair and faked my death, escaping like a cicada shedding its shell.
Clutching my “remains,” he goes completely mad.
(You can enjoy this even if you haven’t seen the original series.)
