The First Step to Becoming a Whole Human

[Ensemble cast | Female-led mystery | School life | Coming of age | Alternate world]

At seventeen, Ye Ruoqing transfers to Jinxiu High School in Sucheng at the arrangement of her adoptive mother, Shi Huiwen.

A year ago, Shi Huiwen left her behind. Before going, she left only a mysterious gemstone bracelet and a guardian who dutifully took care of everything.

Ye Ruoqing knows something is missing from her, so she has always followed the rules Shi Huiwen laid out, trying to hide the fact that she is incapable of love.

But an unexpected robbery in an alley, a brush with death, and a mysterious boy in the rain completely changed her otherwise uneventful school life.

What Ye Ruoqing doesn't know is that she isn't the only one who can't experience humanity in its entirety.

A dreamlike world, an ancient and extraordinary tale, and a long-planned conspiracy are all shaking everyone's understanding of the world.

Flaws can never be fixed or hidden. Learning to accept imperfection is the first step toward becoming a whole person.

"Ye Ruoqing," the boy said, earnestly calling her by name. "Be even bolder and keep moving forward."
