I am a delivery rider.
At one o'clock in the morning, I received an order sent to "Room 701, No. 128 Huaian Road".
The only note is: "Put it on the shoe cabinet at the door and never knock."
After arriving, I discovered that No. 128 Huaian Road was demolished five years ago.
The house number of the dilapidated building in front of me reads: No. 127 With No. 1 Attached.
The "Resident Safety Code" is posted on the wall:
"There is no underground floor in this building."
"Room 701 is vacant and unoccupied."
"Delivery workers are not allowed in this building."
But I'm already in.
On the phone, the customer service is still urging me to deliver the order.
And a voice came from behind the door of Room 701:
"I received the takeaway... Do you want to come in and sit down?"
That night, I became the new "701 resident".
And I'm not the only one in this building.
