The idea of writing this book has been hidden for many years.
In S5, I was still a student squatting in front of the screen to watch the game. Imp just came to China, GodV was still the number one mid laner in China, Taobao Quan's blind monk was running sideways in the LPL, and I still remember PYL's national-protecting sacred cow. The day I won the Summer Split, I really thought LGD was going to win the world championship.
Later you all found out. Paris. The group of death. Fire men smelt iron. Reverse Q.
After that, every time someone mentioned LGD on the S5, the comments section was full of "expansion" and "travel team". No one remembers how strong they were that summer.
Over the years I have been building a utopia in my mind. LGD came to the end in Paris. Just think of it as a late answer to the sixteen-year-old self who shouted "LGD Champion".
TES lost to the Vietnamese team yesterday and I watched the whole game. I remembered a lot when the base was blown up. I think of S5, I think of the LPL going from darkness to dawn over the years, and I think of those who are just one step away from winning. Then I sat down and started typing.
I just want to write about someone who has seen LGD lose and win for them once. Win for Imp, win for GodV, and take one more step for everyone who didn't make it to the end.
If a certain chapter reminds you of a scene from your youth, that's enough.
