Qi Tongwei Transmigrates as Wu Sangui: I Swear I Won't Surrender to the Qing

At the place where his life had once reached its peak, Lone Eagle Ridge, Qi Tongwei could only end his life by swallowing a bullet, filled with bitterness and pride. A sharp pain exploded through his head. When he woke, he discovered he had transmigrated into Wu Sangui, before the Qing forces were let into the pass. Just after escaping one bleak life, he had been dealt an even more tragic fate. The Chongzhen Emperor had hanged himself at Coal Hill, and Li Zicheng, the Dashing King, had taken the capital and established the Great Shun. His father had been arrested, his home ransacked, and his beloved Chen Yuanyuan had been seized by Liu Zongmin. Beyond the passes, the Manchu cavalry watched like hungry wolves. He had forty thousand cavalry from the northeast, but little food or fodder, and the people were in a panic. Knowing history, he understood that the Ming dynasty was rotten to the core. Li Zicheng had only led a band of refugees for a time and knew nothing about governing a country. Beyond the passes, Dorgon was nothing but a wolf-hearted, crude brute. Taking advantage of the chaos in China, he would seize the realm and leave the land weakened for three hundred years. Wu Sangui threw back his head and laughed. “Damn fate, this time I will never let the Qing forces through the pass!”
