Journey to the West: A Gong Shakes the Great Sage Awake on Five Elements Mountain

A Taoist transmigrates into Chen Jiang, a lonely shepherd boy living at the foot of Five Elements Mountain. His magical copper gong can summon lost livestock. After three goats go missing, he searches along the road, beating the gong as its loud clangs repeatedly disturb Sun Wukong, sleeping beneath the mountain. Unable to get any rest, the Handsome Monkey King opens his eyes, golden light flashing from them, and scolds the boy. Thus, a human and a monkey meet, beginning their fateful connection at Five Elements Mountain.
