People from Earth are randomly pulled into the "Lighthouse," where they must clear instances in different worlds and earn points if they want to make it home alive. Baili Hengjue draws a hellish scenario in his very first instance: help a frail, frequently ill Crown Prince survive long enough to ascend the throne.
Ancient court intrigue, Miaojiang evil gods, a zombie apocalypse, cybernetic AI... Players travel from one world to the next.
Shen Yanzhou is the reassuring presence who always stands at the front of the group, while Baili Hengjue is the player who turns his healing talent into a weapon for counterattacks.
They fight their way through instance after instance, going from testing each other to sharing their life force. But Shen Yanzhou never tells him that they were the two players who came closest to clearing the game in the previous round. Baili Hengjue doesn't know that a part of the System already remains within him, and the final boss is waiting for him to return.
