At This Job, You Have to Stay Alive to Get Hired Full-Time

Ling Sheng, a young man out of work, receives an employment notice he can't refuse.

The company promises that completing twelve anomalous assignments will earn him a permanent position.

His first job is as a night-shift security guard.

His second is as a convenience store clerk in the small hours.

His third is as a caretaker at an unmanned hospital.

Behind these seemingly ordinary jobs lie rules that must never be broken.

Don't answer the phone at three in the morning. Don't respond to unfamiliar employees. Don't ask about people who have disappeared...

When Ling Sheng realizes the world is slowly forgetting him, he finally understands:

The real test of this job isn't his ability.

It's whether he can survive long enough to become permanent.

With caution, keen observation, and a little ill-timed humor, Ling Sheng searches for loopholes in the rules during one assignment after another. He gradually gains access to the company's systems and gets closer to the truth.

But he soon discovers that becoming permanent isn't the finish line.

The entire city has already become the company's recruiting zone.

And a woman named Lu Yu may be the only person he can trust.
