Lying Flat in Great Tang, Until Empress Wu Forces Princess Taiping on Me

During the Zhenguan era, he was the most rebellious son in the Tang Dynasty, giving Li Shimin a headache, and the mastermind secretly backing the young Wu Zhao.

After accomplishing his mission, he faked his death and slipped away, becoming Wu Buqi, a shopkeeper in Chang'an. All he wanted was to lie flat and take it easy.

Until Empress Wu Zhao issued an imperial edict, forcing the widowed Princess Taiping to marry him.

Wu Buqi had planned to keep playing the fool and be a useless consort who lived off his wife.

But the arrogant, cold Princess Taiping thought every day about how to assassinate him, this “wicked scion of the Wu family”;

the empress, whose power eclipsed the entire court, watched him every day, trying to find proof that he was “playing dumb”;

and a stream of foolish Wu family members came looking for trouble.

Wu Buqi sighed. With the System at his disposal, he had no choice but to return to his old ways.

And so, the Tang Dynasty gained a “most rebellious son-in-law” who gave the empress headaches and drove the court officials to despair.

Years later, when foreign invaders threatened the empire and the Tang Dynasty was in turmoil, Wu Buqi brushed himself off and stepped forward, subduing the realm with one hand.

Princess Taiping was stunned. “My useless husband is actually the God of War of the Tang Dynasty?”

Wu Zhao was stunned too. “I actually snatched the former emperor from my own family?”
