After Leaving the Industry, I Join Five-Ha, and My Top-Tier Star Ex Turns Around and Flirts with Me

[The rating just came in, and it will rise later]

[One female lead + entertainment industry variety show + System + rekindled romance + sweet romance + viral fame]

Chen Shuo was just stopping by his cousin Chen He's place to pick up a package.

Who could have guessed that a last-minute emergency would leave the Five Ha variety show without a guest star? Filming was only two hours away, so Chen He called the director. "My cousin, a former top-tier star. He's been out of the industry for two years, and he's right here beside me."

Chen Shuo: "...I left three years ago. Don't drag me into this."

Chen He: "They'll feed you for free."

Chen Shuo: "What time do I need to be there?"

The moment he stepped aboard the cruise ship,

"Ding! Host has returned to the public eye. The [Superstar Comeback System] is activated! First mission: Place in the top three of the hot searches for a single variety show episode. Reward: [Stage Command, Max Level]!"

Everyone thought he was a washed-up celebrity trying to score a gig.

That is, until he delivered his first joke and had the whole studio laughing so hard that even the director couldn't cut the scene; improvised a freestyle that led all the regular MCs astray; and sang a song at the finale that left all six cameramen on the verge of tears, their cameras out of focus.

Comments: [Wait, why did this guy leave the industry?? Is he out of his mind??]

After the episode aired, Song Yuqi's studio posted a Weibo late that night, then deleted it seconds later. The post contained only four words:

"Let's talk."

Chen Shuo glanced at his phone screen, smiled, and hit delete.

Watching the numbers in the control room skyrocket, Chen He fell into deep thought. "I called in a substitute to save the day... How did he steal my trending spot in the very first episode?"
