The City God's Memorials

A bolt of purple lightning struck the Dragon Whisker Temple in his jurisdiction, bringing a shocking old case to light.

As the City God of Quanzhou Prefecture, Shen Yanci led a double life: in the temple, he received incense offerings from countless households and annotated the register of life and death; outside, he was a cultural heritage consultant, handling the temple's mundane affairs. He thought his days would pass steadily in this cycle between yin and yang, until a bolt of purple lightning struck the Dragon Whisker Temple.

The Thunder Department's reckless attempt to boost its performance thrust Shen Yanci into the eye of the storm... One seemingly unrelated folk mystery after another began to surface. As the investigation deepened, it became clear that there was more to these cases than met the eye.
