Broken porcelain pieces were piled up into a small mountain in the enamel basin. Cold water soaked them, giving off the smell of old earth. Su Nian stared at the water in a daze, soaking her hands in the water for almost ten minutes and not yet starting to wash them.
The headache returned.
It's not that severe, it's a needle-like sting that penetrates from the temple, bit by bit, like someone hammering nails into the brain. I have had this problem since I was a child. I come here every time when I feel restless. I went for a check-up and the brain CT scan showed nothing wrong. The doctor said it was a neurological headache and I just need to rest more.
Get some rest.
Su Nian looked away and saw her reflection in the water. He has a face in his early twenties, pale and thin, with dark circles bigger than his eyes. He was wearing a gray T-shirt that had been washed white, and the collar hung loosely on his collarbone. He looked like he was about to be sucked dry by life.
Su Nian frowned and wanted to take his hand out - but it was too late.
