I’m Just a Nobody in the Mortal Realm, Yet I Can Overturn Investiture of the Gods and Journey to the West with One Hand

A rift opened in the East Sea, and projections of demonic immortals from beyond the realm drew ever closer. The people of Blue Star were on the brink of disaster. Chen Xuan, burdened by old injuries and with no clear path ahead, unexpectedly activated a fragment of the Hetu Luoshu in his hand.

He was transported to Kunlun's Yuxu Palace, where he took part in an initiation trial as a candidate from another world. With a rare aptitude for cultivating both Dao and martial arts, and the fortune bestowed by the Hetu Luoshu fragment, he rose from the least talented candidate to the most unpredictable variable in the Calamity of Investiture of the Gods.

In the Ten Ultimate Formations, he used modern physics to break the core of an ancient formation. Within the Yellow River Formation, he withstood the Chaos Golden Dipper with his martial body. Before the Immortal Slaying Formation, he fought alongside the Twelve Golden Immortals. On the Investiture Altar, he wielded the God-Beating Whip and personally oversaw the investiture, only to see the truth of the Heavenly Dao in that very moment.

The 365 gods took their places, but those being invested were not gods. They were prisoners.

Under the Heavenly Laws, all immortals were pawns.

The Investiture ended, but the game did not. A thousand years later, the Journey to the West began. Each of the eighty-one trials along the pilgrimage was a merit-harvesting trap set by Buddhism. As a True Immortal, Chen Xuan returned to the Three Realms. In the depths of Lion Camel Ridge's hellish belly, he glimpsed Lingshan's darkest secret. Beneath Leifeng Pagoda, he kept a promise made a thousand years ago. On the East Sea shore, he rode the waves and shared Forget-Sorrow Wine with the Eight Immortals.

From Yuxu Palace to Lingshan, from the Investiture Altar to Five Elements Mountain, he journeyed only to answer one question:

If fate says who you are, must you become that person?

“I don't believe it.”
