The Online Check-In System: A Little Here, a Little There

(System + feel-good wish fulfillment + doting romance + powerful male lead and chaotic female lead + money-making whiz)

Xu Zhishi is maliciously kicked into a river by a coworker. On the brink of death, she gets bound to a viral-check-in System. The System has no sense of decency and tells her to check in at her boyfriend’s room, where she catches him cheating.

“Take a photo to check in at the scene.”

“At the scene… all three of us in the photo?”

“Correct.”

“Isn’t that ridiculous?”

She shows up at a coworker’s home in the middle of the night and touches the sleeping coworker’s head. The coworker is so frightened they end up in a psychiatric hospital.

Her stepfather mocks her for being inferior to his daughter. A System task appears right on cue: “Check in at his private stash. Take a photo, then take all the money.”

“If you make me do this every day, won’t I become Kyoto’s richest person?”

The System replies, “The richest person in Kyoto is Zhou Yechen. Even if I gave you ten million a day for the rest of your life, you still wouldn’t have as much money as he does now.”

Her mother asks her to take care of her half-brother, who isn’t related to her by blood, saying it’s how she can repay their kindness.

She flatly refuses.

Another System check-in task appears: “Do a sexy dance in front of your maternal uncle and take a photo with him.”

“Are you trying to get me killed?”

Later, Zhou Yechen’s screensaver becomes a photo of him with Xu Zhishi.

He accidentally reveals it on a talk show.

Asked, “Who is she? Aren’t you famously uninterested in women?”

He replies, “I was uninterested in women… because I hadn’t met her.”

He pulls her close and kisses her, his voice hoarse. “Back to the room.”

She uses the System, and they appear in the room in an instant.

An hour later, he says, “Go to the balcony.”

She uses the System again, and they appear on the balcony.

An hour later: “To the garage.”

An hour later: “To the woods.”
