Stop Saving People, the Sun Is Going to Die

Saving someone means bringing about the end of the world. What do the small and great acts of kindness in this world have to do with me? This is a new take on traditional cultivation: me or the sun, which will you choose? This world keeps its sun burning by consuming lives. Cultivators treat themselves like candles, and yang excess means they have burned to their limit. But I was born with a pure yin constitution. I can’t burn; instead, I absorb heat. Every time I save a cultivator suffering from yang excess, the sun goes out a little more. Every good deed I do brings the world one step closer to doomsday. The Utilitarians want to use my blood to revive the fourteenth vessel. The Yin Purists want to burn every last thing associated with yin. The Flamekeepers want to drag me to the Sun Altar. Everyone wants to kill me, and everyone needs me.
