Keep Running: Win Over Yuqi, Bailu, Stay Away

[Entertainment Industry + Secret Marriage + Scheming + Web-Novel Master + Sweet Romance and Feel-Good Wish Fulfillment + Double Standards]

After six months of a business marriage, Song Yuqi and her husband in name only, Chen Cheng, have met just twice.

On a travel reality show, the director announces that Chen Cheng will be paired with a sweet girl as a regular couple. Song Yuqi is the top donor in the fan rankings for “City Lord,” the secret identity Chen Cheng uses as a web-novel master in the male-oriented genre. Armed with a fan-interaction System, she flips the table and declares, “I’m a fan of City Lord, the male-oriented web-novel master, and he’s right here!” Her aloof, stone-faced husband immediately drops his water bottle and blurts out, “I’m already married. My wife is rich, and she has a terrible temper.”

To protect his secret identity and keep his updates coming, Chen Cheng goes into full defensive mode on the show. When the sweet girl is about to fall off a floating bridge and asks him to catch her, he pulls off a perfect evasive move, springing straight up from the ground. He’d rather do the splits than let her touch him. But later, in the mud pit, he takes the initiative to carry Song Yuqi on his back, using every bit of his core strength to keep even a drop of mud off her shoes! The whole internet is asking: What happened to the supposedly straight-as-steel guy? He’s clearly a double-standard guard dog!
