Synopsis
Shen Shuyao transmigrated into a book.
The good news: she became the heiress to a wealthy family, with no shortage of food or clothes. The bad news: she got the script of the vicious female antagonist, the one who clung to the male lead, Xie Yanci, and ended up with her family destroyed and the entire internet condemning her.
On her first day in this world, Shen Shuyao saw the original heroine in front of her getting into position to stage a fall and frame her. Shen Shuyao turned and fell down herself.
A setup? She was done with that. Better to lie low from the start.
From then on, she had just three rules for survival: stay away from the male and female leads, keep a low profile, and act meek when necessary. The male lead chased after her with questions, so she dodged him. The original heroine came over to put on an act, so she called her out. When her family packed her off into an arranged marriage, she agreed, but laid down three rules: they’d live their own lives, sleep in separate beds, and stay out of each other’s business.
Shen Shuyao happily planned her lazy life of doing nothing: cooking, writing, tending flowers and plants, and waiting for the contract to end so she could take the money and run. Perfect.
But she didn’t know that the icy male lead, who was supposed to be devoted to the original heroine forever, was watching her with interest.
The more she dodged him, the more he wanted to catch her.
The more she said, “I’m not interested in you at all,” the more he wanted to see her deny what she really felt.
She said she married him to slack off, but he wanted to keep her by his side, feed her little by little, and slowly draw her in until she never wanted to run away again.
Shen Shuyao only wanted to be a lazy fish. Who could have guessed that this lazy fish would catch the eye of a great white shark?
