Everyone knew that Xiao Lin, the powerful Regent who ruled over the imperial court, was aloof, solitary, and merciless. There was not a trace of warmth in his eyes.
There was only one person he cherished:
Qi Chun, daughter of the former Minister of Justice.
In her youthful fighting clothes, her hair tied high in a ponytail, she wielded her sword against evil. Fierce and unyielding, she would rather break than bend.
No one knew that Xiao Lin had surrendered all his cold-hearted tenderness to her.
He was the Regent, with all power in his hands and a lifetime of sins on his shoulders, trapped in the political struggle of the court, where every step led deeper into the abyss.
She was a female prison officer, sword drawn and fearless, working in the dark prison halls yet holding fast to a clear and honest heart.
At their first meeting, Qi Chun stood her ground against him, while Xiao Lin fell hopelessly in love. Their romance was sweet enough to sink into the bone, yet fate stood in their way.
In a lifetime of bitter winter, spring came at last. Through every danger, I will make it to you.
