Floor Eighteen: We Are All Stars

Since ancient times, light and darkness have stood in opposition. The Four Great Evil Beasts have roamed the world since time immemorial, laying waste to heaven and earth and destroying human homes. The Four Guardian Beasts, protectors of humankind, have opposed them for millennia.

During the Yanhuang era, the Four Guardian Beasts fought the Four Evil Beasts, sealing and suppressing them to ease humanity’s suffering for a time. But their divine power was exhausted, and they fell, becoming stars scattered across the sky, where they came to govern the seasons and the many forces of good and ill in the human world.

Humanity’s endless greed, anger, and delusion were absorbed and took shape as all manner of strange evil beasts known as Aberrations, which have plagued the world for thousands of years. The balance between good and evil also gave rise among humankind to many people with supernatural abilities, the Transcendents, who fight back against the evils ravaging the world.

The power of the stars transformed the Four Guardian Beasts into the Twenty-Eight Mansions, which protect the human world. Transcendents and Star Mansion Envoys of different eras have taken it upon themselves to protect all living beings and fight evil.

In the year 2029 of the Qianyuan calendar, nearly five thousand years have passed since the great war between gods and fiends. Once every thousand years, a new generation of Star Mansion Envoys appears to purge the evils of the human world.

But the previous generation of Star Mansion Envoys fell five hundred years ago. Why has the next generation, which should not have appeared for another five hundred years, suddenly emerged now?

What secret lies behind it?

What stories await this generation of Star Mansion Envoys...

(SDFJ fanfiction, ensemble cast, fantasy superpowers, four generations, with Class One as the main cast, plus cameos from the third and second generations)
