A Dream in Wucheng

[Transmigrate into a book, as a cannon-fodder character, and defy fate]

Nineteen-year-old college student Mu Ci stays up all night reading a Republican-era novel and dies suddenly. Her soul transmigrates into the book, taking over the body of Mu Xueci, a short-lived cannon-fodder character whose name differs from hers by just one character.

She had reached the part where Mu Xueci is killed. She only knows that the original character will later be kidnapped by a villain inside the residence and eventually lose her life in an accident. She has no idea what happens after that. Deep in Wucheng, a city perpetually shrouded in fog, strange events and hidden conspiracies are quietly brewing.

With only a few clues about the plot to warn her, Mu Ci refuses to sit back and await death.

Struggling to survive in a place full of danger, she finds herself caught in a fated, torturous romance that she cannot escape, as a nerve-racking battle of political schemes unfolds in the misty, rain-soaked city of Wucheng.
