Boundless

In Year 205 of the Wolf Smoke Era, rifts surged open and the insect tide engulfed the world.

The protracted war between humanity and the insect race had reached its coldest deadlock.

Humanity had four Star Realm peak experts and twelve other Star Realm powerhouses, but the alliance was united in name only. Its members kept one another in check, and its strongest fighters never joined forces.

The insect race had five Star Realm peak rulers and fourteen Star Realm powerhouses at full strength. Though its domains were divided among rival warlords, who constantly weakened one another, it still drove humanity back, step by step.

After a century of restraint, six peak strategic flagships entered service, finally giving humanity a trump card to shore up its crumbling defenses.

On one side, humanity's factions eyed one another with suspicion and tied their own hands.

On the other, the insect warlords undermined one another, used their enemy to weaken their rivals, and held fast to the rifts' core.

As orbital weapons slowly took shape in the heavens and conflict between civilizations grew ever fiercer...

No one would win, and no one would leave the battlefield.

This was the Wolf Smoke Era: a civilization-ending war that could never be brought to an end.
