Zhang Ye is a salesman at a drone company. At his boss’s request, he goes on a business trip to a border town in place of a sick colleague. But he ends up kidnapped abroad and forced to modify drones for terrorists to attack an Eagle Sauce convoy.
After the mission fails, he is captured by the Eagle Sauce army and taken to a secret base, where he meets Professor Lin, a top scientist from Longguo who is imprisoned there as well.
An elite Longguo special forces team arrives to rescue Professor Lin, and Zhang Ye escapes with them.
But the Eagle Sauce elite forces pursue them relentlessly. In the end, both sides perish together in an underground river deep beneath the earth.
As the sole survivor, Zhang Ye finally makes it back to the surface after a grueling struggle, only to discover that the world has ended.
The virus is rampant, zombies are everywhere, and armed groups run wild.
Determined to bring home what Professor Lin and the Longguo special forces gave their lives to protect, Zhang Ye cuts his way through a bloody path and begins the long journey back home.
