That Aloof Professor and Her Thousand-Year-Old Ghost

[Dual Female Leads + Sweet Romance + Past and Present Lives + Doglike Female Ghost + Devoted Wife]

A slightly possessive, doglike female ghost × a cool yet gentle professor

Song Taoqi, an archaeology professor who is cool, rational, and loves nothing more than digging in the dirt, comes home one evening and gets into the bath. Out of nowhere, a pale female ghost drenched in blood appears in the bathroom, a broken arrow lodged in her chest, and throws her arms around Song Taoqi from behind.

The ghost says her name is Qin Guixin. She has been waiting here for over a thousand years and remembers nothing, except that she is searching for someone.

Song Taoqi: “...Let go. I can't bathe like this.”

Even stranger, only the ghost can touch Song Taoqi. Song Taoqi can't touch her at all.

Sneaking under the covers in the middle of the night, sitting by the bed to watch her sleep, mooching food and insisting Song Taoqi take the first bite: is this a ghost, or a clingy little pest she's been raising for a thousand years?

Then Song Taoqi discovers that the fossil she unearthed by chance, the deputy general mentioned in passing in the history books, and the old tale of a rain of arrows at the frontier... all the clues point to the same answer.

The general you've been waiting for is me. I'll atone for the one who killed you.

“When you touch me, it stops hurting here.” She points to the arrow wound in her chest.

“What if I told you I think I remember you too?”

Qin Guixin. Guixin, returning to one's heart.

A thousand years ago, you died for me. A thousand years later, you live for me.

A thousand years ago, you stood firm as a thousand arrows pierced your heart. A thousand years later, though we're divided by life and death, I still know you.
